Gregory M. Jones Managing Principal, is a finance, corporate development and general management executive with over 20 years of experience. He offers clients the unique combination of investment/deal experience and general management expertise. He has participated in and completed transactions in excess of $2 Billion. Those transactions include debt underwritings, credit facilities, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and partnerships. Mr. Jones began his investment career at JP Morgan and Lehman Brothers where he was an investment banker for general infrastructure, healthcare, governmental and industrial clients. At United Technologies/Pratt & Whitney he was responsible for business development for Space Propulsion, Military Engines and the Power Systems Business Units. Additionally, he led the new ventures group at Pratt & Whitney establishing and commercializing new businesses. His expertise includes strategy development and execution, business capitalization, business integration, planning and analysis, and delivering return on investments according to plans.
Mr. Jones earned his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; a Master in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University and B. S. from Morgan State University.
Lewis G. Hinman
is a seasoned executive with expertise in complex business environments with commercial, government, aerospace and other industrial markets. His 30+ year career includes aerospace and commercial units of United Technologies Corporation, Exelis Corporation, as well as smaller privately-held companies. He has hands-on P&L experience with manufacturing enterprises, including leadership through difficult market conditions and organizational realignment. Mr. Hinman brings deep knowledge in strategic business development and collaborative business structures, with particular experience in acquisitions, due diligence and integration planning and execution. He has very broad international exposure: Europe, Asia/Pacific, India and South Africa, including two international assignments. His background includes extensive training in business process improvement and data-based decision making. He is recognized for his customer focus, communication skills and cross-functional team leadership.
Mr. Hinman holds an MBA in International Business from the University of Hartford, and a BS from St. Lawrence University. He also is a graduate of the Darden School Executive Development program, as well as a US Patent holder.
William Piechowski is a senior human resource executive with Fortune 100 domestic and international experience in corporate, line, and start-up operations in financial services and manufacturing industries. He has been successful at creating HR strategies and structures for multiple business units in various industries to achieve organizational change and business improvement. As a senior human resource executive with Citigroup, Travelers Insurance, General Electric and General Dynamics, he developed expertise in talent and management development, employee and labor relations, succession planning, business integration and acquisition due diligence. During his career, he was responsible for employee relations efforts for a $4 billion business integration and has specific experience in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe and Asia.
Mr. Piechowski earned his M.S. in Industrial Relations from the University of New Haven and a B.A. from Assumption College.
Fred earned an M.A. in National Security Studies at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Lowell (now UMass-Lowell).
Owen Garrick, M.D. Dr. Garrick formerly Director of Corporate Strategy and M&A at McKesson Corporation. He led McKesson’s effort in vertical integration and was responsible for evaluating and managing new initiatives and business opportunities for the pharmaceutical division. Some of his key accomplishments included the $450M acquisition of D&K Healthcare, the launch of McKesson’s Generic Drugs Telesales Business Unit, and the development and launch of McKesson’s Drug Adherence Business.
Prior to McKesson, Dr. Garrick was the Executive Director and Global Head of M&A Negotiations at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. In this position he structured, negotiated and closed both M&A and complex license transactions. He specifically oversaw small and medium size company acquisitions, hybrid equity/license right deals, mature product divestments, and venture investments in biotechnology companies. Previously he spent four years at Goldman Sachs in New York, functioning as an investment advisor working with private healthcare companies as they sought to grow, raise capital, and perform initial public offerings.
Dr. Garrick earned his MD from the Yale School of Medicine and his MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He holds an AB in Psychology from Princeton University.
Anna Kazanchyan, M.D
founded Primary i-Research, a provider of highly customized scientific, medical and financial due diligence to leading healthcare hedge funds and mutual funds through access to its 4,000+ member global network of clinical and non-clinical experts. Earlier in her career, during 1999-2003, she was a member of the #1 and #2 Institutional Investor (II)-ranked Biotech Equity Research Teams at Goldman Sachs and Salomon Smith Barney, respectively, and afterwards a senior biotechnology research analyst at Wachovia Securities and Investec. From 2003-05, she provided strategic advice and business development services to biopharmaceutical companies’ CEOs in addition to overseeing investor relations.
She was born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia and is fluent in Armenian and Russian. Anna received her B.A. in Biology, summa cum laude
, from Clark University in 1992, and her M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1996.
Dan Kruk is a senior finance and administrative executive recognized as a business partner and turnaround agent with extensive domestic and international manufacturing, distribution and operating experience focused on improving EBITDA and cash flow while building market value for consumer, retail, apparel and service companies. Dan has served as CFO and finance executive for companies ranging in size from $20 Million to $2 Billion including divisions at Playtex Products where he directed accounting, financial analysis, strategic planning and financial controls. He has developed expertise in acquisitions, integrations, supply chain redesign, business turnaround, distress situations, Six Sigma and lean enterprise. He has been successful in transforming finance organizations into valued business partners of operating groups resulting in sustained financial improvement.
Mr. Kruk earned his M.B.A. in Financial Management from Pace University and a B.S. in Accounting from Manhattan College.
Fred Wergeles specializes in Strategic Planning and Competitive Intelligence process improvement. He has over 25 years experience in the intelligence field, and has consulted to companies in a diverse array of industries. He is an 18-year veteran of the CIA, where he analyzed worldwide technology developments and was a senior analyst at the White House Situation Room, the National Security Council, and the Pentagon.
Fred has served the Manager of Competitive Intelligence/Corporate Strategic Planning at Pratt & Whitney (a division of United Technologies), adjunct professor at the University of Hartford, teaching a Competitive Intelligence course in their MBA program and an undergraduate class in Entrepreneurship. He is the President of a non-profit organization that provides business analysis to entrepreneurial start-ups.
Fred is a SCIP Catalyst Award winner, and named a SCIP Fellow for outstanding contributions to the competitive intelligence profession. He is the SCIP Connecticut Chapter Chair and was a member of SCIP’s International Board of Directors from 2005-2008.
